RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve revenue contracts to provide Age Wise Program Technical Assistance to the following agencies, for the total contract period of May 1, 2024 through June 30, 2026:
1. County of Monterey, in the amount of $200,000.
2. Korean Community Services, in the amount of $169,756.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Aging and Adult Services-Public Guardian (DAAS-PG) will receive $369,756 in total revenue for providing Age Wise Program Technical Assistance to the County of Monterey and Korean Community Services. The revenue from the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) will fully reimburse DAAS-PG for the cost of services provided to these agencies. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in DAAS-PG 2023-24 recommended budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In 2004, Proposition 63 was passed in California, which lead to the creation of the MHSOAC to oversee the state of California's mental health system. The MHSOAC is responsible for oversight of the implementation of the Mental Health Services Act in California. One initiative is to distribute funds for innovative projects that launch new approaches to administration and treatment in mental health.
