Recommendation
1. Approve the contract specifications for future countywide traffic signal maintenance services, as signed and sealed by a registered civil engineer.
2. Authorize the Director of Public Works to advertise for competitive bids.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the cost to maintain the traffic signals, in-ground flashing lights, street lights and flashing beacons (collectively referred to in this item as traffic signals) will be funded with Gas Tax revenue. The Department of Public Works (Department) will include sufficient appropriation and revenue in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The specifications for future countywide traffic signal maintenance services will ensure the Department's continued responsibility for maintaining traffic signals that are located on highways identified in the County Maintained Road System. On June 11, 2019 (Item No. 47), the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved a five-year traffic signal maintenance contract with St. Francis Electric, LLC. This contract is set to expire on June 30, 2024. The Department desires to procure a vendor that will provide the County traffic signal maintenance services starting July 1, 2024. The Department would procure a five-year contract, with a contract period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2029.
