BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On January 10, 2023 (Item No. 6), the Board of Supervisors (Board) accepted and approved grant award Agreement No. 23-16 (Grant Agreement No. AT-2223-36) from the California Department of Aging (CDA) for the Access to Technology Program (ATT) to provide older adults, 60 years of age and older, and adults with disabilities access to digital connectivity and technology, in the amount of $2,056,883, for the period of October 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024.
On September 24, 2024 (Item No. 7), the Board accepted and approved Amendment No. 1 to Grant Award Agreement No. 23-16 (Grant Agreement No. AT-2223-36) from the CDA for the ATT to provide older adults, 60 years of age and older, and individuals with disabilities access to digital connectivity and technology, updating Exhibit C - General Terms and Conditions, and the Budget Summary, which increased the grant amount by $467,247, for a total grant award amount of $2,524,130, and decreased the term by three months, for the revised period of October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2024.
The requested budget adjustment of $862,176 represents a portion of funding previously awarded to DAAS-PG for the ATT, which was not budgeted in its entirety for 2024-25. When year-end grant expenditures in the amount of $862,176 were anticipated for 2023-24, the preliminary budget submission for 2024-25 only included an estimated amount of $1,194,707. This correction increases appropriation to offset ATT costs already incurred directly related to mobile devices and professional services.
