Appoint Gilbert Ramos, Assistant Executive Officer, as the County Director of Public Social Services, pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 10801.

This item will not result in the use of any Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost), as it is non-financial in nature.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 10801, the Board of Supervisors (Board) shall appoint a County Director of Public Social Services. Gilbert Ramos oversees several of the departments that are part of the Human Services Group, including the Transitional Assistance Department, Aging and Adult Services, Veterans Affairs, Child Support and the Preschool Services Department. Therefore, it is recommended that the Board appoint Gilbert Ramos to fulfill the role of County Director of Public Social Services.
