Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The $18,825.79 decrease represents the prorated savings associated with removing the equipment effective May 31, 2026, through the remainder of the agreement term ending April 30, 2028. The cost for the services is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2026-27 budget and will be included in the 2027-28 recommended budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Amendment No. 3 will allow ARMC to update the equipment list under Agreement No. 25-227 with Renovo Solutions, LLC (Renovo) by removing the Arcadis Avantic portable fluoroscopy C-Arm, known as “Curly” (Biomed No. B011548), retroactively as of May 31, 2026. ARMC discontinued use of the equipment on that date following a failed annual inspection that identified several issues rendering it irreparable, and the equipment was decommissioned.
ARMC notified Renovo on June 12, 2026, to request its removal from maintenance coverage. Retroactive approval is requested to align the removal from the agreement and the associated maintenance cost reduction with the date the equipment was taken out of service. This change reduces maintenance costs by $9,822.15 annually, resulting in a prorated reduction of $18,825.79 for the period of May 31, 2026 through April 30, 2028, and decreasing the agreement amount from $1,254,703.40 to $1,235,877.61. This change is necessary to ensure the current inventory of medical imaging equipment at ARMC requiring routine preventative maintenance is accurately reflected and remains compliant with applicable regulatory and state requirements.
On April 8, 2025 (Item No. 11), as the result of a competitive procurement, the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved Agreement No. 25-227 with Renovo, for asset management services, maintenance, and repair services for medical imaging equipment in the amount of $1,230,701, for a three-year period, effective May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2028.
On June 18, 2025 (Item No. 15), the Board approved Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 25-227 with Renovo. The amendment updated the medical imaging equipment list with no change to the agreement amount of $1,230,701, or the term of May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2028.
On August 4, 2026 (Item No. 20), the Board approved Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 25-227 with Renovo. The amendment updated the medical imaging equipment list and increased the agreement amount by $24,002.40 to a total of $1,254,703.40, with no change to the term of May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2028.
ARMC recommends approval of Amendment No. 3 to ensure that the list of equipment to receive services is updated to enable ARMC to maintain and repair radiographic equipment utilized to treat patients in San Bernardino County.
