COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The amendment does not change the existing contract amount of $1,296,983 or the contract term. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2025-26 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This amendment will update the product list in Contract No. 24-629 to reflect updated model numbers used by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. (Gore) for its Viabahn VBX Balloon Expandable Endoprosthesis (VBX Stent Graft) devices to treat vascular issues.
On August 28, 2023, as the result of a non-competitive procurement, the Purchasing Department approved Contract No. 4400019000 with Gore to enable the purchase of VBX Stent Graft devices on a consignment basis in the amount not to exceed $296,983 for the term of August 28, 2023 through August 27, 2025.
On July 9, 2024 (Item No. 6), the Board of Supervisors approved Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 24-629 (4400019000) with Gore, increasing the contract amount by $1,000,000, from $296,983 to the not-to-exceed total contract amount of $1,296,983, and extending the term by two years, for a total term of August 28, 2023 through August 27, 2027.
ARMC recommends approval of Amendment with Gore to enable ARMC to continue to provide for patient safety and health needs by supplying the medical devices to ARMC surgeons to perform necessary procedures.
