BACKGROUND INFORMATION

On March 10, 2020, in accordance with Government Code section 8630(a), the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors (Board) proclaimed the existence of a local emergency for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting all cities/communities in San Bernardino County. The impacts from COVID-19 resulted in the need for the County to implement emergency protective measures.

In consultation with affected departments, the Chief Executive Officer, while serving as the Director of Emergency Services, has determined that emergency conditions no longer exist and therefore continuation of the Emergency Proclamation pertaining to and for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is no longer needed.  Consequently, it is recommended that the Board terminate the existence of this local emergency in accordance with Government Code section 8630(d).
