RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve the purchase of a Loader Mounted Snow Blower in an amount not-to-exceed $250,000 as an unbudgeted fixed asset for the purpose of snow removal operations.
2. Authorize the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector to post the budget adjustments, as detailed in the Financial Impact section, for the purchase identified in Recommendation No. 1 (Four votes required).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Public Works (Department) is funded by Gas Tax revenue, fee revenue, and other federal, state, and local funding. The total cost not-to-exceed $250,000 for the purchase of a Loader Mounted Snow Blower, including estimated taxes and delivery, will be funded with the use of Available Reserves. The necessary budget adjustments are as follows:

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of the recommended actions will provide the Department with sufficient appropriation to fund higher than anticipated costs for the replacement of a Loader Mounted Snow Blower to ensure proper snow removal equipment is on hand for snow removal operations during the winter season.
PROCUREMENT
Purchase of the equipment will be in accordance with County Policy 11-04 Procurement of Goods, Supplies, Equipment and Services. An invitation to bid was released on the County Electronic Procurement Network (ePro) on July 20, 2023, with two bid responses received.

The Department has reviewed the bids received and determined that they are responsive and if the Board of Supervisors approves the recommended actions, the equipment will be purchased from Quinn Company, the lowest responsible bidder.
