Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1, effective April 9, 2022, to Employment Contract No. 20-934 with Leonard X. Hernandez for the position of Chief Executive Officer, updating contract provisions, and extending the contract for an additional six years, for a total contract term of October 10, 2020 through April 14, 2028.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
It is not anticipated that this action will result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the County Administrative Office 2021-22 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On October 6, 2020 (Item No. 53), the Board of Supervisors approved Employment Contract No. 20-934 with Leonard X. Hernandez for the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective October 10, 2020 through October 7, 2022. The recommended item will amend Employment Contract No. 20-934, updating contract provisions and extending the contract for an additional six years through April 14, 2028, effective on April 9, 2022.
