FINANCIAL IMPACT

Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The $700 annual lease cost for approximately 120 square feet of office space at the Bloomington Recreation and Park District (District), Kessler Park office building, is included in the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator’s (Department) 2021-22 budget.  Sufficient appropriation and revenue will be included in both the Department’s and District’s future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will formalize the terms and conditions that the Department and District have agreed to as they relate to the Department’s occupancy and use of office space at the District’s Kessler Park office building.

The Department requires space to be available as a satellite office for patrol staff to write reports and other functions, while providing public safety services in the County’s Bloomington area.

The recommended MOU provides for the use of approximately 120 square feet, which includes one closed door office for the Department’s individual staff use, from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2027.  The MOU may be terminated by either the Department or District, at any time, without cause, upon 30-days written notice.
