BACKGROUND INFORMATION
CSPP provides education, health, cognitive, social/emotional, physical growth and development, and parent involvement services for children ages 3 to 5, as well as referrals to health and social services for families and staff development opportunities to employees. CSPP services cover full-day and part-day childcare and development programs that include nutrition, parental education, and information on child development and care that includes an educational component that is developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the children served. Since 1999, PSD has provided CSPP services through a combination of direct and contracted services.
PSD has received CSPP funding from the State for over 47 years. To receive that funding, PSD is required to submit an annual, continued funding application. PSD is requesting $4,712,718, for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022, to provide part-day CSPP services to an estimated 805 children at the estimated annual cost of $5,854 per child.
