Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $3,900 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2025-26 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The recommended amendment will allow ARMC to ensure the Previ Color Gram automated staining system, currently in use at ARMC for microbiological diagnosis, continues to function properly by continuing the current service plan for repair services. The Previ Color Gram is an automated staining system that provides rapid, standardized results for all types of specimens and streamlines the workflow of microbiology labs.
On September 27, 2022 (Item No. 10), as the result of a non-competitive procurement, the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. 22-850 for equipment repair services, in the amount of $6,582, with a term of September 27, 2022 through September 26, 2025.
ARMC recommends approval of Amendment No. 1 to ensure that the hospital has properly functioning clinical equipment to deliver quality medical care to county residents.
