RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Accept donation of one 2025 Honda Pioneer 1000-6, side-by-side, utility task vehicle (Vehicle Identification Number 1HFVE0843S4200015), with a total value of $28,644.18, from the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
2. Authorize the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator, Undersheriff, or Assistant Sheriff to execute all necessary documentation to transfer the title of the donated vehicle referenced in Recommendation No. 1, subject to review by County Counsel.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The 2025 Honda Pioneer 1000-6, side-by-side utility task vehicle (UTV), was purchased by the City of Rancho Cucamonga (Rancho Cucamonga) for a total amount of $28,644.18. The UTV was purchased with Rancho Cucamonga’s Fiscal Year 2022 Homeland Security Grant funds. All ongoing costs associated with the donated vehicle, including fuel, insurance, and maintenance, will be funded through the law enforcement services contract with Rancho Cucamonga. Sufficient appropriation and revenue are included in the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator’s (Department) 2025-26 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department provides contracted law enforcement services to Rancho Cucamonga. In support of these services, the Department is requesting approval to accept the donation of one UTV for use by Department personnel to better support Rancho Cucamonga’s public safety initiatives and improve law enforcement operational capabilities in areas where patrol vehicles have mobility challenges. The UTV will be returned to Rancho Cucamonga at the end of its useful life to be disposed of as specified in the donation letter, attached to this item for reference.
County Policy Standard Practice 06-01SP requires departments to obtain Board of Supervisors approval to accept any donation valued over $10,000.
