RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve monetary donation of $50,000 to the Sheriff’s Employee Assistance Team, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization, to provide services to support the well-being of the County Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator’s employees and their families, after the organization has updated its status with the State of California Department of Justice.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation is included in the Countywide Discretionary’s 2024-25 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Sheriff’s Employee Assistance Team, Inc. (SEAT) is a non-profit charitable organization that provides assistance to Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator’s (Department) employees, volunteers and retirees during critical situations, such as: major illnesses, accidents, living condition emergencies and deaths. SEAT must utilize this donation to provide services to support the well-being of Department members and their families. Prior to disbursing the funds to SEAT, County staff will confirm that SEAT has a current registration with the California Department of Justice.
