Recommendation
Authorize the San Bernardino County Museum to accept a donation in the amount of $125,000 from the San Bernardino County Museum Association to be used for museum exhibits and programming, admission underwriting, collections care, staff professional development, and education supplies.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Appropriation and revenue associated with this donation are included in the Museum’s 2022-23 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The San Bernardino County Museum Association (Museum Association) is the 501(c)(3) support organization for the San Bernardino County Museum (Museum) providing funding to the Museum from fundraising activities. This donation represents an allocation committed by the Museum Association for 2022-23. The donation is being used for museum exhibits and programming, admission underwriting, collections care, staff professional development, and education supplies. Examples of funded projects for the 2022-23 Fiscal Year include the Museums for All admissions program, Fred Brashear, and Benoit Malphettes art exhibits, and Seeds: Natures Artful Engineering.
Per County Policy 06-01 and Standard Practice 06-01SP, Board of Supervisors approval is required to accept gifts or donations valued over $10,000.
