Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Operate in a Fiscally-Responsible and Business-Like Manner.
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
Pursue County Goals and Objectives by Working with Other Agencies and Stakeholders.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item does not require the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The surplus and donation of the Calico Cowboy signs will avoid the costs of removal, transport, and disposal of the signs that are no longer viable for use at Calico Regional Park.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Daggett Historical Museum (Museum) contacted the Regional Parks Department (Regional Parks) after seeing that two new signs were installed for the Calico Regional Park to see if Regional Parks would donate the former signs to the Museum. As part of the donation, the Museum has agreed to remove, transport, and maintain the signs at the Museum as a historical symbol of Calico Ghost Town. No other County departments would benefit from the signs that have an estimated value of less than $6,000. Therefore, Regional Parks is recommending that the two former signs be donated to the Museum.
Approval of this recommendation aligns with the County and Chief Executive Officer goals and objectives to provide for the safety, health and social service needs of County residents, pursue County goals and objectives by working with other governmental agencies, and to operate in a fiscally-responsible and business-like manner by removing outdated equipment that would better serve another facility.
