BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This project will complete critical repairs to the pedestrian bridge connecting the Yucaipa Regional Park RV campground to the park’s trail system, lakes, swimming complex, and playground areas. The existing wood decking has significantly deteriorated and must be removed and replaced to ensure continued safe access for park visitors. In addition, steel channels will be installed to reinforce and strengthen the existing bridge structure.
The proposed replacement of the wood planks with durable composite decking, combined with added steel reinforcement, will substantially improve the bridge’s structural integrity, enhance public safety, and extend the useful life of this essential park asset. These improvements will help ensure reliable and safe connectivity between key recreational amenities within the park.
PROCUREMENT
Upon approval of the project, PFMD will implement the project through the procurement process using an existing Board of Supervisors (Board)-approved Job Order Contract or through a competitive selection through a solicitation of bids following County procurement and California Public Contract Code requirements. If necessary, contracts for the project will be brought back to the Board for approval.
