Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2025-26 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of the Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 22-191 (Agreement) with Landauer, Inc. (Landauer) will allow ARMC’s Medical Imaging Department to continue to utilize radiation dosimetry subscription services, reports, and an online account management tool, called myLDR.com. The myLDR.com tool is used for collection and measurement of radiation dose information. ARMC uses the radiation dosimetry subscription services and related tools to ensure accurate and reliable staff monitoring and precise dose measurements in any environment where there is potential exposure to ionizing radiation. Thus, the services help the hospital to maintain patient and employee safety.
On March 15, 2022 (Item No. 10), as the result of a non-competitive procurement, the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved the Agreement with Landauer, including non-standard terms, to provide radiation dosimetry subscription services, reports, and an online account management tool (myLDR.com) for collection and measurement of radiation dose information obtained through usage of Landauer’s dosimeters, in the not to exceed amount of $50,000, plus applicable taxes, for the contract term of April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2024.
On March 26, 2024 (Item No. 14), the Board approved Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement increasing the contract amount by $50,000, from $50,000 to $100,000 plus applicable taxes, and extending the contract term by two years, for a total contract period from April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2026.
A Request for Proposal (RFP) for Radiation Dosimetry Subscription Services, Monitoring Reports and an Online Account Management Tool will be conducted before the expiration of the recommended extension of the contract term. An RFP was not previously conducted due to the low volume of services provided in the Agreement.
ARMC recommends approval of Amendment No. 2 for the safety, health and social service needs of county residents through support of the hospital’s medical imaging services.
