BACKGROUND INFORMATION

San Bernardino County Policy No. 02-09 section (B)(3) states: “The Board of Supervisors shall review a Commission every four years to determine whether to extend the life of the Commission.” The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors (COB) coordinates the periodic review of Boards, Commissions and Committees (BCC), and for 2025 only one BCC was subject to Sunset Review. COB sent an inquiry to the liaison agency, County Administrative Office (CAO), asking for their recommendation regarding the continuation or sunset of the Debt Advisory Committee (DAC). The DAC enhances the management of the County’s long-term debt program and ensures appropriate debt policy review and oversight of all the County’s debt issuance activities. Liaison agencies are typically County departments providing administrative support and coordinating activities of the BCC. The COB received a response from CAO and their recommendation formed the basis of the recommended action.
