Body

COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES

Operate in a Fiscally-Responsible and Business-Like Manner.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as Indicia User Experience Upgrade Acknowledgement Letter (Agreement) with MCG Health, LLC (MCG) is non-financial in nature

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Agreement with MCG will allow Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) to have access to the MCG Indicia Upgrade (Upgrade) to one or more MCG software solutions currently in use prior to other MCG customers. In exchange for early access, ARMC will participate in marketing and promotional activities for MCG and provide feedback on the new user experience to MCG based on its participation in the use of the Upgrade.

ARMC recommends approval of the Agreement since it will allow ARMC to participate in early adoption of MCG’s Upgrade. The Upgrade is meant to give ARMC access to a more simplified and seamless experience throughout all Indicia platforms including Indicia Solutions Management, Indicia for Admission Documentation, and Indicia for Effective Focus. Since ARMC currently licenses all three, ARMC is a candidate for early adoption of the Upgrade before other customers are transitioned to the Upgrade. Gaining early access will benefit ARMC, as it provides an opportunity to identify any areas for improvement and can help improve workflow prior to release of the Upgrade.

The Indicia software suite helps hospitals maximize revenue by automatically identifying cases that are likely to be in an inappropriate level of care, automate the collection of relevant clinical information to support a level of care decision and compare gathered clinical information against evidence-based care guidelines to improve clinical and financial outcomes.

On November 14, 2023 (Item 16), as the result of solicitation No. ARMC 122- ARMC 4956, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract No. 23-1215 with MCG Health in the amount of $989,251, for the licensing, maintenance and support of medical criteria software system for the term of December 1, 2023 through November 30, 2028.

Under the Agreement, in order to gain early access to an upgrade to the MCG software, the County agrees to provide evaluation, comments, suggestions, ideas, improvements, and other information resulting from the County’s participation in its use of an upgrade for the term of Contract No. 23-1215.
