BACKGROUND INFORMATION

San Bernardino County Policy No. 02-09 section (B)(3) states: “The Board of Supervisors shall review a Commission every four years to determine whether to extend the life of the Commission.” The Clerk of the Board of Supervisors (COB) coordinates the periodic review of Boards, Commissions and Committees (BCCs), and for 2024 sent inquiries to five liaison agencies asking for their recommendation regarding the continuation or sunset of specific BCCs. Liaison agencies are typically County departments providing administrative support and coordinating activities of the BCCs. The COB received responses from all liaison agencies and their recommendations form the basis of the recommended action.

The following table delineates the BCCs under review and the liaison agency making the recommendation. Five BCCs under review are recommending continuance.
