Approve a Side Letter Agreement between San Bernardino County and Teamsters, Local 1932 effective June 29, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The total ongoing cost related to this item is approximately $18,000 in 2024-25, and in ongoing years. There is sufficient appropriation in the Innovation and Technology, Probation, Public Works, and Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator departments’ 2024-25 respective budgets and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On September 12, 2023 (Item No. 25), the Board of Supervisors approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Teamsters Local 1932 that included an annual Boot/Specialized Footwear Allowance for employees in certain classifications who are required to purchase and wear boots/specialized footwear. The proposed Side Letter Agreement (Agreement) amends the eligibility for the allowance to include the classifications of Communications Installer, Communications Technician I, Communications Technician II, Communications Technician III, Equipment Parts Specialist I, Equipment Parts Specialist II, Equipment Parts Supervisor, Network Services Supervisor, Probation Division Director I, Probation Division Director II, Probation Food & Beverage Operations Manager, Radio Communications System Analyst, Sheriffs Lead Cook, Special Projects Leader, and Supervising Communications Technician.
If approved, the Agreement will be effective June 29, 2024.
