Adoption of an Amendment to Ordinance No. 1904 Relating to Updating of Positions in the Unclassified Service

RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Adopt Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 1904, by adding one new position, moving nine positions from Classified Service to Unclassified Service, and moving four positions from Unclassified Service to Classified Service of the County, which was introduced on February 25, 2025, Item No. 47:
1. Add the following position number to Unclassified Service of the County: Chief Deputy Director of Sheriff’s Administration (Position No. 58740).
2. Move the following positions from Classified Service to Unclassified Service of the County: Assistant Director of Behavioral Health (Position No. 55851); Administrative Analyst III (Position Nos. 55911, 55912, 56994, 58327, 56996, 76958, 57720, and 15274).
3. Move the following positions from Unclassified Service to Classified Service of the County: Assistant Chief Information Officer (Position No. 12985); Administrative Analyst III (Position Nos. 54759 and 89971) and Administrative Analyst I (Position No. 82121).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The adoption of Ordinance No. 1904 (Ordinance) will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation is included in all impacted department budgets for 2024-25 and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This Ordinance of San Bernardino County, State of California, describes the positions in Unclassified Service and was introduced to the Board of Supervisors (Board) on February 25, 2025, Item No. 47. The February 25, 2025, board agenda item contained errors in its description of the ordinance, however, the ordinance submitted to the Board was correct. The descriptions of the ordinance have been corrected in today’s board items and the recommendation before the Board is to adopt the Ordinance.
