Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Operate in a Fiscally-Responsible and Business-Like Manner.
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost increase of $50,000 plus applicable taxes is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2023-24 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of the recommended amendment to the agreement with Landauer, Inc. (Landauer) will allow ARMC’s Medical Imaging Department to continue to utilize radiation dosimetry subscription services, reports, and an online account management tool, called myLDR.com. The myLDR.com tool is used for collection and measurement of radiation dose information. ARMC uses the radiation dosimetry subscription services and related tools to ensure accurate and reliable staff monitoring and precise dose measurements in any environment where there is potential exposure to ionizing radiations. Thus, the services help the hospital to maintain patient safety.
On March 15, 2022 (Item No. 10), the Board of Supervisors approved Agreement No. 22-191 with Landauer, Inc., including non-standard terms, to provide radiation dosimetry subscription services, reports, and an online account management tool (myLDR.com) for collection and measurement of radiation dose information obtained through usage of Landauer’s dosimeters, in the not to exceed amount of $50,000, plus applicable taxes, for the contract term of April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2024.
ARMC recommends approval of the amendment for the safety, health and social service needs of County residents through support of the hospital’s medical imaging services.
PROCUREMENT
Purchasing continues to support the non-competitive procurement from Landauer based on the product’s unique functional specifications as the myLDR.com tool encompasses all of ARMC’s needs. While there are other, similar products on the market, only Landauer’s subscription offers the comprehensive list of services needed by the hospital for radiation dosing and monitoring, ensuring that the hospital can support patient safety and care.
