FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $30,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Multiple Product Purchase Agreement No. 25-04 (Agreement) with Integra LifeSciences Sales LLC (Integra) will allow for the purchase of airway balloons, inflation devices and related supplies utilized by ARMC physicians to expedite access to multiple air war dilation systems during trauma cases. These additional ear, nose, and throat (ENT) supplies were not included in the current Agreement.
ARMC previously purchased ENT products from Acclarent Inc. using Pricing Agreement No. 4400025048 approved by the Purchasing Agent. These ENT products are now being added to this Agreement to maximize cost savings, as Acclarent was recently acquired by Integra, and ARMC continues to use these products.
On January 14, 2025, (Item No. 11), as the result of a non-competitive procurement, the Board approved the Agreement with Integra, including non-standard terms, for neurological products, supplies and equipment accessories, in the not-to-exceed amount of $3,500,000, for the contract period of January 14, 2025 through January 13, 2028, with the option to extend for two additional one-year terms.
ARMC recommends the approval of the Agreement with Integra, to provide for the safety, health and social services needs of County residents by expediting access to multiple airway dilation systems ARMC physicians are experienced in utilizing in traumas for more efficient patient care and safety.
