Approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 20-573 with Ziehm Imaging, Inc. for the maintenance of medical imaging X-ray equipment, increasing the contract amount by $25,840 from $120,700 to $146,540 with no change to the contract term of July 14, 2020 through July 13, 2025.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of Amendment No. 1 (Amendment) to Contract No. 20-573 (Agreement) will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $25,840 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2023-24 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Amendment to the Agreement with Ziehm Imaging Inc. (Ziehm) will authorize ARMC to expend an additional $25,840 to pay for the final year of the Agreement. The Agreement was originally approved for an incorrect amount and because of that, funding for the service has been exhausted. The agreement provides maintenance service and parts for equipment used in ARMC’s Medical Imaging Department (Medical Imaging), specifically for the maintenance of the C-arm that is used in vascular surgery. The C-arm is a medical imaging device that is based on X-ray technology and, due to its mobility, can be used in various Operating Rooms (ORs) within the hospital. Medical Imaging acquired this equipment in May of 2019 to be used in procedures performed by vascular surgeons.
On July 14, 2020 (Item No. 12), the Board of Supervisors approved Contract No. 20-573 with Ziehm for maintenance of imaging X-ray equipment in the amount of $120,700 for the five-year term of July 14, 2020 through July 13, 2025.
ARMC recommends this Amendment to continue regular maintenance of the medical imaging equipment to ensure safe and efficient service to patients and to provide for the health and social services needs of County residents.
PROCUREMENT
Purchasing continues to support this competitive procurement approved by the Purchasing Agent based on a competitively bid contract through the County’s Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), Vizient. The Vizient Contract number is XR0533.
