Body
COUNTY AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Provide for the Safety, Health and Social Service Needs of County Residents.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $243,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2024-25 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Approval of the recommendation will correct Item No. 5, presented on March 1, 2022, Agreements with iland Internet Solutions Corporation (iland) and Nth Generation for Cloud Platform Software, revising the subscription term to the period of April 19, 2022 through April 18, 2025. Because the purchase order was not issued until April 7, 2022, iland did not begin the initial three-year subscription term until April 19, 2022. The corrected subscription term will align with the renewal subscription term effective April 19, 2025 through April 18, 2027.
The iland cloud platform software ensures that ARMC healthcare data is safe guarded against disasters or cyber security threats. ARMC's healthcare data is digitally transferred over a secure Internet connection to iland’s cloud server. The software allows ARMC to continue to have a more robust data protection system and allows for a faster retrieval time as the data does not have to be recalled from a slow magnetic tape system.
On March 1, 2022 (Item No. 5), as the result of an informal solicitation, the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved Agreement No. 22-129 with Nth Generation, in the amount of $243,000, for the period of, March 1, 2022 through February 28, 2025 for Cloud Platform Software.
ARMC recommends approval of the Amendment to provide for the safety, health, and social services needs of County residents by increasing the efficiency of healthcare data collection and protecting against disasters or cyber security threats.
PROCUREMENT
