RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 24-992 with the City of San Bernardino for the Modernization of Older Californians Act Nutrition Services, increasing the contract amount by $90,000, from $99,900 to a total amount not to exceed $189,900, and extending the contract term by one year for a total contract period of October 22, 2024 through September 30, 2026.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The total cost of $90,000 for the nutrition services is 100% State funded by the Modernization of Older Californians Act (MOCA) Nutrition funding with no match requirement. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the 2025-26 budget and will be included in the 2026-27 budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Department of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) offers a wide variety of programs designed to help older adults and individuals with disabilities. DAAS operates nutrition services programs in the County to provide nourishing meals, nutrition education, and companionship to older individuals and their spouses with an intent to reduce hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition while also promoting socialization.
