RECOMMENDATION(S)

Recommendation

1.                     Consider proposed ordinance relating to placing a measure on the ballot to pursue the County’s fair share of state and federal resources.

2.                     Make alterations, if necessary, to proposed ordinance.

3.                     Approve introduction of proposed ordinance.

                     An ordinance of San Bernardino County, State of California, proposing to submit to the qualified electors at the November 8, 2022 election a Measure on pursuing San Bernardino County’s fair share of state and federal resources.

4.                     SCHEDULE ORDINANCE FOR FINAL ADOPTION ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 9, 2022, on the Calendar.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There could potentially be the need for Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).  Future estimated costs, if any, will be determined based on the direction provided by the Board of Supervisors (Board).

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Based on input from the public the Board is considering an item to place on the November 8, 2022 ballot a measure asking if the citizens of the County want the Board to study all options to obtain its fair share of state and federal resources, up to and including secession.
