Recommendation
Approve Agreement with Steris Corporation for offsite sterile processing services, in the not-to-exceed amount of $5,000,000, for the contract period of July 25, 2024 through July 24, 2029.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The cost of $5,000,000 is funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending any legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2024-25 recommended budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Agreement with Steris Corporation (Steris) will allow ARMC to continue to utilize offsite sterile processing services in support of the hospital's Sterile Processing Department (SPD). The services include, but are not limited to cleaning, decontamination, assembly and sterilization of medical grade instruments and surgical instrument trays. In addition to general surgical instruments, the Agreement includes the sterilization of the hospital's Da Vinci Surgical System (Da Vinci) - a robotic system for minimally invasive, complex surgical procedures.
