RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Terminate Employment Contract No. 21-896 with Amanda Fakhoury effective June 23, 2023 (Four votes required).
2. Approve Employment Contract with Amanda Fakhoury to provide support services to the Second District as a Communications Officer, effective June 24, 2023, for an estimated annual cost of $118,070 (Salary - $74,506, Benefits - $43,564).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this employment contract will not require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation exists within the Second District's 2022-23 budget to fund the costs related to this employment contract and will be included in future recommended budgets.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Staff services to members of the Board of Supervisors (Board) are provided through contractual arrangement, as required by the County Charter.

On December 7, 2021 (Item No. 6), the Board approved Employment Contract No. 21-896 with Amanda Fakhoury to provide support services as Communications Advisor I for the Fifth District. On May 24, 2022 (Item No. 5), the Board approved Amendment No. 1 to the contract adding a portable communications device allowance. Recommendation No. 1 will terminate the existing Employment Contract No. 21-896 effective June 23, 2023, and requires four votes per Section 210 of the County Charter and the termination provisions within this contract.
