RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve revenue agreements for the Department of Public Health to provide nursing services to the following agencies, for an aggregate amount of approximately $52,000, for the period of July 15, 2020 through June 30, 2021:
1. Baker Valley Unified School District
2. Encore Education Corporation
3. Lucerne Valley Unified School District
4. Mt. Baldy Joint Elementary School District
5. Trona Joint Unified School District

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Department of Public Health (DPH) will receive revenue in an aggregate amount of approximately $52,000 for the period of July 15, 2020 through June 30, 2021. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in DPH's 2020-21 budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The California Education Code requires that pupils in public schools receive health screening services to identify health conditions that can affect the pupil's ability to learn and progress. These services include hearing screening, vision screening, Scoliosis screening, and nursing consultations. Services also include providing referrals and follow-up services based on screening results and, if needed, consultations and educational services for disease control and immunization concerns.

Under the terms of the recommended agreements, DPH will perform approximately 3,723 screenings at the specified school sites. DP...
