RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Ratify the execution of Amendment No. 1 to Agreement No. 25-293 with the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, Division of Boating and Waterways, for the Boating Safety and Enforcement Financial Aid Program for patrol operations at the Colorado River, reducing the original award amount by $120,664.01 from $412,661 to $291,996.99, with no change to the original period of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The amendment to Agreement No. 25-293 (Agreement) reduces the original award amount by $120,664.01 from $412,661 to $291,996.99. This award offsets the Sheriff/Coroner/Public Administrator's (Department) 2025-26 estimated cost of $1,100,588 to provide boating safety and enforcement activities at the Colorado River. Approval of the necessary budget adjustments for the grant reduction is not requested at this time but will be included on the 2025-26 Mid-Year Budget Report presented to the Board of Supervisors (Board) for approval.
