Recommendation
1. Consider proposed ordinance relating to compensation of election workers.
2. Make alterations, if necessary, to proposed ordinance.
3. Approve introduction of proposed ordinance.
* An ordinance of San Bernardino County, State of California, amending Subsection 13.0619(a) of the San Bernardino County Code of Ordinances, relating to compensation of election workers and payment for polling places.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item may require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The estimated cost to increase the stipends for polling place election workers is $261,255 and includes increases for polling place Supervisors, Assistant Supervisors, Clerks, Field Representatives, and Ballot Security. A portion of the election worker cost is billed to jurisdictions that call for a polling place election. Approval of the necessary budget adjustments to the Registrar of Voters' (ROV) 2023-24 budget is not requested at this time, but will be included in a future budget report presented to the Board of Supervisors (Board) for approval, if necessary.
