RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District (SBCFPD), approve Amendment No. 4 to Revenue Agreement 18-354 with the Fontana Fire Protection District (District), increasing the annual compensation amount by $1,895,490 (from $31,040,117 to $32,935,607) beginning in 2020-21 to compensate SBCFPD for its costs of providing fire protection and emergency medical services to the District, with all other terms of the contract remaining in effect through June 30, 2038.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this amendment will not require additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) as the District is compensating SBCFPD for the cost of providing service in accordance with the terms of Agreement No. 18-354. The amended amount of $32,935,607 for 2020-21 represents a $1,895,490 increase from prior year. This increase in compensation is due to SBCFPD's additional costs of providing services to the District, primarily resulting from new agreements with the following labor unions:

* San Bernardino County Professional Firefighters, IAFF, Local 935, representing employees in the Firefighters Unit - approved by the Board of Directors (Board) on August 20, 2019 (Item No. 66).
