Recommendation
Approve revenue agreement with the California Department of Food and Agriculture, Pest Detection, Emergency Projects (State Agreement No. 22-1694-028-SF), for the reimbursement of inspection services related to the Exotic Fruit Fly Pest Detection Trapping Program, for a maximum reimbursement of $876,210, from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The revenue agreement in the amount of $876,210 is being provided by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), Pest Detection Emergency Projects (PDEP). Sufficient appropriation and revenue have been included in the Department of Agriculture / Weights & Measures (AWM) 2023-24 budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
AWM currently places and services traps for the detection of exotic fruit flies related to the Exotic Fruit Fly Pest Detection Trapping Program (Program), which are reimbursed by CDFA, PDEP. CDFA, PDEP determined that the placing and servicing of traps should be performed by counties due to the widespread distribution of locations throughout the State where host trees are found.
