Approve non-financial Letter of Agreement with Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, including non-standard terms, for Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Cooperation, effective March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2031.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Each facility will remain financially responsible for patient care services provided at its respective location. Costs for patient care services will be funded by State Medi-Cal, Federal Medicare, private insurances, and other departmental revenue. Funding sources may change in the future pending and legislative activity related to the repeal and/or replacement of the Affordable Care Act. Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) 2025-26 budget and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) operates a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that provides specialized care to high-risk newborns. In accordance with California Children's Services (CCS) requirements, hospitals operating NICUs must maintain an affiliation with a CCS-approved Regional NICU to support consultation, referral, and coordinated care for patients who may require higher levels of neonatal care.
