RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the San Bernardino County Flood Control District, approve Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 4400020535 with Water & Earth Technologies, Inc. for maintenance, installation, and operational support services, increasing the not to exceed amount by $300,000, from $1,000,000 to $1,300,000, with no change to the contract term of January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2027.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The San Bernardino County Flood Control District (District) is funded by property tax revenue, fee revenue, and local, state, and federal funding. Sufficient appropriation has been included in the District's 2025-26 budget and will also be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The District operates an Automated Local Evaluation in Real-Time (ALERT) system. ALERT is a flood warning system that transmits rainfall, stream flow, and weather data from different locations in real time and is used by the District as part of its emergency operation during major storm events.
