RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve revenue Contract in an amount not to exceed $62,470 with the San Bernardino City Unified School District for the provision of two school-based Probation Officers at a cost not to exceed $31,235 per each assigned full-time Probation Officer, for the period August 25, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Two Probation Officers will be assigned to the San Bernardino City Unified School District (District). The average cost of the two Probation Officers for 2020-21 is $258,000 of which the District agrees to pay a not to exceed amount of $31,235 for each full-time Probation Officer, for a total not to exceed amount of $62,470. The Department's remaining cost of $195,530 will be funded by the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA). The JJCPA allocates state resources annually to fund programs that address juvenile crime prevention and focus on public safety. Sufficient appropriation and revenue is included in Probation's 2020-21 Budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
