FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).
Sufficient appropriation exists in the Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) Computer Operations 2023-24 budget to fund the total amount of $18,358.98 in moving expenses incurred by the Chief Information Officer.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The County Exempt Group Working Conditions Ordinance, Section 13.0613(r)(2)(A) (Ordinance), gives authority to the Chief Executive Officer to approve moving expenses up to but not exceeding $10,000; moving expenses that exceed $10,000 require Board of Supervisors (Board) approval.

A nationwide recruitment for the position of Chief Information Officer was recently completed and the successful candidate, Lynn Fyhrlund, relocated from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to San Bernardino County. As part of the Ordinance, all exempt employees are entitled to reimbursement of moving expenses. The total of the expenses incurred by Mr. Fyhrlund as part of his relocation was $18,358.98. The expenses incurred by Mr. Fyhrlund have been reviewed and approved by the County Administrative Office and the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector.
