RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 3 to Grant Agreement No. 22-1008 (UC Davis Purchase Agreement No. UCDPHO00059401) with the University of California Davis, Koret Shelter Medicine Program, for the California for All Animals Program, extending the contract period for an additional six months, for the total term of September 1, 2022 through December 31, 2025, with no change to the total combined grant award of $405,000.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Amendment No. 3 to Grant Agreement No. 22-1008 (Agreement) with the University of California (UC) Davis for the Koret Shelter Medicine Program, for the California for All Animals Programs (Program) extends the contract period for an additional six months, with no change to the amount of $405,000. Adequate appropriation and revenue are included in the Department of Public Health's (DPH) 2024-25 recommended budget and will be included in the 2025-26 recommended budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The State awarded UC Davis $50 million to administer the California for All Animals initiative to reduce the euthanasia of adoptable, healthy, and treatable pets by providing grants and outreach to local animal shelters.
