RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve contracts for armed and unarmed security services, at fixed hourly rates listed in each contract in Attachment A, for the period of March 1, 2024, through February 28, 2027, with two one-year optional extension periods with the following contractors:
a. American Guard Services, Inc.
b. Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc.
c. Platinum Security, Inc.
d. Redwood Private Security, LP
e. Universal Protection Service, LP dba Allied Universal Security Services
2. Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute the two one-year options to extend the term of the contracts listed in Recommendation No. 1, subject to County Counsel review, add, replace, delete classifications, and adjust rates including minimum wage, contractual cost of living increases or rate adjustments reflective of competitiveness in the marketplace.
3. Direct the Purchasing Agent to transmit amendments for armed and unarmed security guard contracts to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors within 30 days of execution.

Approval of this item will not result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Departments that require security guard services are responsible for ensuring adequate funding in their respective adopted budgets or to request additional discretionary general funding as necessary.
