RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Waive subsections 1.e and 1.f of County Policy 02-10 related to the selection of an individual for appointment to the Board of Retirement for the San Bernardino County Employees' Retirement Association.
2. Appoint from the following list of applicants to fill the vacancy on the sixth seat of the Board of Retirement for the San Bernardino County Employees' Retirement Association to fill the remaining portion of the current three-year term, expiring on December 31, 2027:
a. Nicholas Griffith
b. Harry H. Hatch
c. John Johnson, Jr.
d. Eric Raley
e. Vincente Tenerelli
f. Vere L. William

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Government Code section 31520.1 requires that four members of the Board of Retirement for the San Bernardino County Employees' Retirement Association (SBCERA) be appointed by the Board of Supervisors (Board). Michael Kennedy, who was appointed by the Board, resigned and vacated the sixth seat of the Board of Retirement for SBCERA, for a term expiring December 31, 2027. The Board is now requested to appoint a SBCERA Board member to the sixth seat to fill the remainder of the term.
