RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Terminate Employment Contract No. 23-06 with Acquanetta Warren effective June 1, 2024 (Four votes required).
2. Approve Employment Contract with Acquanetta Warren to provide support services to the Second District as a District Director of Special Projects, effective June 1, 2024, for an estimated annual cost of $72,518 (Salary - $63,929 Benefits - $8,589).
3. Approve Employment Contract with Jesse Streeter to provide support services to the Second District as a Policy Advisor I, effective June 1, 2024, for an estimated annual cost of $120,865 (Salary - $73,237 Benefits - $47,628).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of these employment contracts will not require the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). Sufficient appropriation exists within the Second District’s 2023-24 budget to fund the costs related to these employment contracts and will be included in future recommended budgets.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Staff services to members of the Board of Supervisors (Board) are provided through contractual arrangement, as required by the County Charter.
On January 10, 2023 (Item No. 4), the Board approved Employment Contract No. 23-06 to engage Acquanetta Warren to provide support services to the Second District Supervisor as a District Director, effective January 3, 2023. Recommendation No. 1 will terminate existing Contract No. 23-06 effective June 1, 2024, which requires four votes per Section 210 of the County Charter and the termination provisions within this contract. Recommendation No. 2 will initiate a new employment contract to engage Ms. Warren as a District Director of Special Projects for the Second District, effective June 1, 2024.
Recommendation No. 3 will engage Jesse Streeter to provide support services as a Policy Advisor I for the Second District Supervisor, effective June 1, 2024, and contingent upon the successful completion of the background process.
Either party may terminate each contract at any time without cause with a 14-day prior written notice to the other party. Each contract may be terminated for just cause immediately by the County.
