RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1, effective upon execution by both parties, to non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (Contract No. 20-610) with the Children and Families Commission for San Bernardino County for the provision of Family-Community Support Program services, updating County responsibilities, and extending the contract period by one year, for the total contract period of August 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Children and Family Services (CFS) and the Children and Families Commission for San Bernardino County (First 5) is non-financial; therefore, it does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The CFS mission is to strive to protect endangered children, preserve and strengthen their families, and develop alternative family settings. The recommended amendment to the MOU with First 5 will continue to assist CFS in meeting their mission. First 5 has contracts in place to promote and support the prevention of child abuse and neglect, supporting families in caring for their children, and connecting families to community supports and social services. The recommended amendment to the MOU will enable CFS to continue to utilize First 5's resources with the following objectives:
