Recommendation
Acting as the Board of Supervisors for San Bernardino County, Board Governed County Service Areas, and the San Bernardino County Flood Control District, and as the Board of Directors for the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District, Bloomington Recreation and Park District, Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency, and the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District:
1. Conduct a public hearing on the status of vacancies and recruitment and retention efforts under Government Code section 3502.3 (Assembly Bill 2561).
2. Receive presentation on Government Code section 3502.3 (Assembly Bill 2561).

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
California Government Code Section 3502.3 mandates that public agencies present the status of vacancies and recruitment and retention efforts during a public hearing before the agency’s governing body at least once per fiscal year. The County must also identify any necessary changes to any policies, procedures, and recruitment activities that currently create obstacles in the hiring process.
