Community Care License Application to the State of California for Temporary Shelter Care Facility

RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Approve Community Care License application documents and authorize the submission to the State of California for a Temporary Emergency Shelter facility for youth who have been exposed to, present symptoms of, or currently have COVID-19.
2. Designate the Assistant Executive Officer of Human Services, the Deputy Executive Officer of Human Services, or the Director of Children and Family Services as authorized to execute and submit the Community Care License application documents, and any other documents required by the State of California for the Temporary Emergency Shelter, on behalf of the County, subject to review by County Counsel.
3. Direct the Assistant Executive Officer of Human Services, the Deputy Executive Officer of Human Services, or the Director of Children and Family Services to transmit all Community Care License application documents to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors within 30 days of execution.

This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). There is no fee for the Community Care License application.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On March 9, 2021 (Item No. 18), the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved a lease for a family-home/facility in the City of San Bernardino for use by Children and Family Services (CFS) as a COVID-19 isolation and quarantine residency for children.
