RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Revenue Contract No. 22-1068 (State Revenue Contract No. CSPP-2418) with the California Department of Education to provide California State Preschool Program services, increasing the total contract amount by $2,345,709, from $4,903,686 to $7,249,395, with no change to the contract period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
This item does not impact Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The increase of $2,345,709 for the provision of California State Preschool Program (CSPP) services is funded by the California Department of Education (State). Adequate appropriation and revenue have been included in the Preschool Services Department's (PSD) 2022-23 budget.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
CSPP provides education, health, cognitive, social/emotional, physical growth and development, and parent involvement services for children ages 3 to 5 countywide, as well as referrals to health and social services for families, and staff development opportunities to employees. CSPP services include childcare, nutrition, and parental education with an educational component that is developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for the children served.
