RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
Acting as the governing body of the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District:
1. Accept a cash donation of $256,100 from The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo for use towards the Installation of Shade Structures at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo Project.
2. Approve Capital Improvement Program Project in the amount of $304,472 for the Installation of Shade Structures at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo Project.
3. Authorize the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector to post budget adjustments, as detailed in the Financial Impact section, for the Installation of Shade Structures at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo Project (Four votes required).

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item will not result in the use of Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The estimated cost for Installation of Shade Structures at the Big Bear Alpine Zoo Project (Project) is $304,472. The Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District (District) will receive a cash donation of $256,100 from The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo (FOBBAZ) for the Project. The remaining Project cost of $48,372 will be funded by the use of the District's Available Reserves.
The following 2023-24 budget adjustments are requested to proceed with the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project:
