RECOMMENDATION(S)
Recommendation
1. Consider proposed ordinance relating to setting the special election for the initiative/petition entitled "The San Bernardino County Supervisor Compensation Reduction and Term Limits Initiative" on the November 3, 2020 General Election ballot.
2. Make alterations, if necessary, to proposed ordinance.
3. Approve introduction of proposed ordinance.
4. Read title only of proposed ordinance; waive reading of the entire text and SCHEDULE FOR FINAL ADOPTION ON TUESDAY, July 28, 2020, on the Consent Calendar.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Approval of this item may result in the use of additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost). The Registrar of Voters (ROV) estimates all costs plus overhead related to conducting the election for the initiative/petition will be about $2.7 million. If additional appropriation is necessary, a request for additional Discretionary General Funding (Net County Cost) will be submitted at a later date.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On June 23, 2020 (Item No. 42), the Board of Supervisors (Board) approved a resolution providing direction to the ROV to place the initiative/petition on the November 3, 2020 General Election ballot in accordance with Elections Code section 9118 (b) and (c).
